Gastronomic branding of Biograd - Royal flavors that win over guests

Biograd na Moru is no longer just a sunny coastal destination - it is on its way to becoming the true gastronomic capital of Dalmatia! The Tourist Board of the City of Biograd, in cooperation with Gastronauts and about 15 top Biograd restaurateurs, has launched an ambitious project of gastronomic branding of the city.

Goal

To put Biograd on the gastronomic map of Croatia and make it a destination that guests visit not only for the sea and sun, but also for the unique flavors that tell the story of the rich history and tradition of this region.

Gastronomic advantages of Biograd

Biograd cuisine is based on authentic Dalmatian ingredients - fresh seafood, extra virgin olive oil, homemade wine and hand-prepared delicacies. However, in this project, the emphasis is placed on three culinary flagships that define Biograd as a special gastronomic destination:

Kunjke shells – small but mighty sea pearls, a delicacy that has adorned the Biograd table since ancient times. Combined with local wines and herbs, they bring a true taste of the Adriatic.

Dishes with prosecco – this indigenous Dalmatian dessert wine is not only served with desserts, but is also used in the preparation of dishes, giving them a rich, aromatic character.

Royal dishes in the royal city – inspired by the history of Biograd as a former royal city, these dishes bring a touch of luxury through selected recipes and top-quality ingredients.

Biograd – New top destination for gourmets

With this project, Biograd na Moru is moving beyond the scope of the classic tourist offer and becoming a gastronomic destination worth visiting. Guests now come not only for the crystal clear sea and rich history, but also for the unforgettable flavors that tell the story of tradition, the sea and royal heritage.

Local restaurants have recognized the importance of this project and have enriched their dishes with unique gastronomic stories:

Dishes with kunjke clams are offered by: Kampanel, Europa, Riva, Beštek, Daniela and Barba.

Dishes with prosecco are offered by: Crvena luka, Casa Vecchia, Kampanel, Arkada, Riva, Daniela, Europa, Barba, Beštek, Marina Kornati, Park Soline, Bazilika and Dalmaland.

You can taste royal dishes in: Daniela, Europa, Riva, Arkada, Beštek i Dalmaland.

A Gastronomic Story That Delights the Region

After educational workshops for restaurateurs in March and April, from May 14 to 16, 2024, gastronomic and tourism journalists from Croatia, Slovenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Macedonia, Hungary and Austria had the opportunity to experience these specialties firsthand.
